Which extremely wealthy people would you predict won't be wealthy in 20 years?

Oh, I can give you WAY more than twenty, though I hope you’re not too fussy about the delivery system, because I can’t list them all by name. It would take WAY too long.

The answer is: 90% of professional athletes.
See, most of the massive contracts that you hear about only go to a very small percentage of superstar players.

For football, only the very best quarterbacks and MAYBE the very best RBs are going to get those amazing contracts, and then if they do well for their entire career, make a big name for themselves, and retire without destroying their face too much, they’ll be able to continue drawing a check by doing commercials and small TV roles.

But the majority of NFL football players will have to get a day job shortly after leaving the NFL, and very few of them will do anything football related.

Not only that, but the contracts that they DO score from making it into the major leagues aren’t really all that great either.

Without some wise investing and a healthy budget, they might even find themselves declaring bankruptcy shortly after leaving the sport.

When’s the last time you remember hearing about how the second-string left tackle for the Redskins from 1997 was doing nowadays? Oh, that’s right.

You haven’t. He’s probably driving a semi or doing steel work, like a lot of ex-professional athletes.

A lot of people focus their entire lives as teenagers and young adults on getting into professional sports.

They give absolutely no consideration to what they’ll do after they’re done, which is why many of them end up doing quite poorly when their professional career is all said and done.

Sure, maybe they’ll end up as a defensive line coach at some BS university with no chance of ever topping the lists at college ball.

But that’s really one of the best football related options for a no-name defensive lineman who doesn’t make an impact in the game. It’s a shame, but that’s the way it is.
